MILF
"Mother/Mom/Mum I'd Like to Fuck”

What is a mother beyond biology, gender role and patriarchy. Beyond moralism, body politics and attachment theories?

In a new solo MILF, Nadja Hjorton will work on maternal physicality, and the stereotypes, utopias and paradoxes embodied by motherhood. How can one deal with maternity without falling into biological traps, without consolidating or confirming stereotypes and binary stories?

Nadja is interested in the bloody, sloppy, bodily and animalistic aspect of motherhood. The becoming, the actual labour of delivery, the cutting, pushing, breathing, pain and pain relief. But she is also interested in care taking and how family life and parenting, to a large extent, organizes and sustains societal structures. How much society actually is carried by a certain type of motherhood and what different ”maternal practices" proposes in different contexts.

In MILF Nadja will collaborate with visual artist Éva Mag and light designer Sanna Adibzadeh. Éva Mag is working mainly with fabric and clay, founded in an interest in corporeality and materiality, the brutality of life and the human relationship with society's social and political structures. She is represented by Galleri Riis, and has been exhibited at Svenska Konst: Nu!, Sven-Harry's Art Museum, Haninge Konsthall with the exhibition "Man ska vara snäll mot sig själv” and Respekt for Waldemarsudde, Stockholm". Sanna Adibzadeh has recently worked with Riksteatern and the production FATTA! and at Folkteatern in Gävle and the production Transaktion.
